REGISTER TODAY to join a BStrong Together Conversation Circle!
Through a generous grant from the Barrington Area Community Foundation, BStrong Together is pleased to announce the creation of three ongoing, facilitated Conversation Circles to begin in the fall. FREE and open to all parents, caregivers, educators, and community members inside the geographic boundaries of Barrington 220 School District (affiliation with the District is not required), the Conversation Circles aim to build a community of support focused on the issues, concerns, joys and challenges of raising children in today’s complex world.
Meeting monthly throughout the 2018-19 school year, each Conversation Circle will consist of a maximum of 25 parents, caregivers, educators, and community members from the Barrington area and two mental health professionals who will provide support, guidance, and expertise to group members. In order to meet the unique needs of children and youth at different developmental stages, BStrong Together has created three Conversation Circles, each to focus on a specific age group - elementary school, middle school, and high school.
The Elementary Conversation Circle will meet in the Zimmerman Room of the Barrington Area Library from 9:15 - 10:45 am the 2nd Wednesday of the month beginning on Wednesday, October 10th.
The Middle School Conversation Circle will meet in the Zimmerman Room of the Barrington Area Library from 9:30 - 11:00 am on the 1st Wednesday of the month beginning on Wednesday, October 3rd.
The High School Conversation Circle will meet in the Zimmerman Room of the Barrington Area Library from 9:30 - 11:00 am on the 4th Tuesday of the month beginning on Tuesday, September 25th.
The supportive learning environment of the Conversation Circle will provide information, tools, resources, and strategies from the knowledge and experience of the facilitators combined with the perspective and support that comes from the connection to other members. Together, the group will discuss ways to prepare children and youth to successfully navigate the complex world of today and the future.
